Short Paragraph
Keep the first paragraph short and reiterate the headline.

Vertical Image
Break up the introduction and the heavy content with an image that’s pinterest-friendly, meaning its 564 pixels wide and 823 pixels tall.

Remaining Content
Use h2 headings and short paragraphs, lists and detailed instruction for the remaining 300 word count. Bonus if you use video or additional images.

Offer a free download in the form of a cheat sheet, checklist, or worksheet that relates to the blog post. Let readers exchange their email address for the free download which will help grow your email list.

Closing Question
End your blog post with a relevant question to your readers. This encourages engagement and commenting.

    Thanks Allison! Great Post! I love the idea of a question at the end . i will try that. i was inspired to do some linking between blog posts and to my specialty page as well. Hope it all helps! I’m wondering how I can use wordpress to do the h1 and h2 titles in between paragraphs?

    Hi Barbara, I’m so glad to hear that! Above the main content box you’ll find a text format dropdown. By default, it’s set to ‘paragraph’ with options for ‘Heading 1’ through ‘Heading 6’. The main blog title is automatically an H1. I suggest you use H2 throughout your blog post on subheadings to designate SEO importance. Just highlight the desired text and select H2 from the dropdown.
